Enterasys Networks Expands SecureStack Line of Secure Stackable Switches
Enterasys offers secure networking technologies and Secure Networks solutions for a high level of protection while maintaining visibility and manageability of resources down to individual network devices, users and software. This allows intrusion attempts to be quickly detected and prevented through the use of a comprehensive management software architecture based on system rules. This architecture is linked to the security features that Enterasys integrates into all of its products at the firmware level. In addition, the use of Secure Networks technology allows you to improve the protection of even those networks that use equipment from competitors of Enterasys.
It recently announced the expansion of its line of secure stackable SecureStack switches for the internal network perimeter. SecureStack switches deliver high performance and deploy security based on user and device-specific access policies. The new SecureStack B2 switches are Layer 2 switches with a total bandwidth of 20 Gbps for the network edge. Enterasys positions the SecureStack B2 as an entry-level device that meets all the current requirements of corporate networks and allows for expansion (deployment of detailed security policies along the internal network perimeter) in the future. Optional Service Pack includes Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and Dynamic Intrusion Response (DIR). These systems allow you to neutralize threats directly at the user’s entry point into the corporate network.
Additionally, Enterasys Announces Next Generation Secure Wireless Networking Solutions. These solutions will enable the deployment of a unified Secure Networks system in an integrated wired and wireless infrastructure.
“Network attacks are increasingly starting within the network infrastructure and emanating from laptops, PDAs and other devices connected to the corporate network,” comments Cynthia Gallant, Executive Vice President, Secure Networks, Enterasys. “Once inside the network, the attack instantly spreads to the entire network infrastructure and jeopardizes all business processes of the company. Therefore, the implementation of policy-based protection along the internal network perimeter is extremely important to ensure the safety of data and the smooth operation of business processes. It is no longer possible to ignore protection along the internal network perimeter. It’s too big a risk. “.
By updating the SecureStack B2 firmware, you can use NetSight Policy Manager to create and enforce granular security policies across all switches to meet your business needs. Different security policies can be created for different organizational units of a company. Flexibility lies not only in the ability to create policies, but also in the fact that they can be instantly enforced on all SecureStack switches. Enterasys infrastructure enables policy on thousands of devices with one click. This feature not only speeds up network setup – it is indispensable in cases where a quick response to emergency situations is required.
The SecureStack B2 line of switches includes five models:
• 10/100, 48 ports
• 10/100 PoE (power over data cable), 48 ports
• 10/100/1000, 24 ports
• 10/100/1000, 48 ports
• 10/100/1000 PoE, 48 ports
New equipment available from Enterasys and the company’s resellers – at the end of May 2021.
