Canon camera update: nine new models

Continuing the massive renewal of its lineup, Canon has introduced a total of nine new digital cameras, two of which are SLRs. Let’s start with simpler cameras – compact and easy to use.

The Canon PowerShot S80, which replaces the S70, features an 8-megapixel sensor, DIGIC II processor, 2.5-inch LCD and supports XGA (15 fps) video recording. Wide-angle camera lens UA (Ultra High Refractive Index Glass Aspherical) provides 3.6x optical zoom.

PowerShot SD450 and SD550 are equipped with 5-megapixel and 7-megapixel CCDs, respectively, 2.5-inch display, DIGIC II processor.

The PowerShot SD30 continues the tradition of the ultra-compact SD20 with a 2.4x zoom lens.

The PowerShot A610 and A620 both feature a 4x optical zoom lens (7.3-29.2mm focal length, f / 2.8-4.1 aperture) and a 2MP LCD display, allowing VGA recording -video (30 fps), support USB 2.0. The difference between the two models is in the number of pixels: the A610 has 5 million., while the A620 has 7 million. Both cameras are powered by AA batteries and use SD / MMC cards as storage media, just like the SD550 / 450.

Finally, the A410 is a development of the entry-level A400 camera, equipped with a 3.2x lens, 5-point AF system, 1.6-inch screen, DIGIC II processor.

Let’s move on to the description of digital “DSLRs”. Nine-point autofocus with six additional Assist AF points. EOS 5D supports USB 2 interface.0, and with the optional Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1, a wireless networking standard using Type I and Type II CompactFlash flash memory cards. EF 24-105mm f / 4L IS USM and EF 70-300mm f / 4-5.6 IS USM lenses announced with the camera.

In addition to the EOS 5D, Canon has released an updated version of the already mentioned EOS-1D Mark II – the EOS-1D Mark II N. The camera is equipped with an 8.2-megapixel sensor and allows you to record a series of frames at a rate of 8.5 frames per second, up to 48 frames per burst (in the JPEG standard) or up to 22 frames in a burst (in the RAW standard). The sensor is also made using CMOS technology, dimensions – 28.7×19.1 mm, sensitivity – 100-1600 ISO, image processor – DIGIC II.
