Bill Gates Demonstrates Future Subnotebook Concept

At this week’s WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineers Conference), Microsoft chairman Bill Gates unveiled a five-diagonal laptop concept (according to other sources ? seven) inches – very similar to the recently presented Toshiba Libretto U100, only, among other things, it is also a tablet.

The demonstration concept runs Windows XP and is said to have a long run time at a cost of $ 500-800. No technical details have been reported yet.

The last statement (price), nevertheless, needs to be taken especially skeptically – the technologies for the production of devices with a diagonal of five and seven inches have so far been mastered only by Toshiba and Sony, but the cost of their subnotebooks, as a rule, “rolls over” for $ 1000, and this is not only that the development of such new products is in itself an expensive pleasure, and also that one cannot count on high demand for such devices.
