Aprilis biometric sensors deliver 500 dpi
At the IAIAC (International Association for Identification?s Annual Conference) held in Texas, Aprilis unveiled a new development for biometric sensors that allows you to accurately scan your fingerprint even in cases where it is difficult – for example, when the finger is wet (pictured on the right).
HoloSensor HS-500 has dimensions of 24×30 mm and can scan a fingerprint with a resolution of 500 dpi (dots per inch). The sensor owes its name to the fact that it scans not only in the horizontal plane, but also determines the depth, although, of course, it has nothing to do with HoloSensor HS-500 holography.
Aprilis will also showcase the HoloSensor HS-1000, which provides 1000 dpi for AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems) Level III.
