THE FUTURE OF SOUND

Apple made an agreement with a student

Apple Computer Inc. reached an agreement with a developer accused of distributing an unreleased version of the OS X operating system on the Internet.

As part of the manufacturing process, college student and Apple development team member Doug Steigerwald received a copy of Apple’s not publicly available software. He violated a non-disclosure agreement and published the materials received. As a result of the proceedings brought by Apple, the student-developer pleaded guilty and agreed to pay compensation, the amount of which was not disclosed.
Steigerwald said in a statement to Apple that his intent was not to harm the company. At the same time, he realizes that his actions were illegal and caused significant damage.

Earlier, on March 11, the court issued an order obliging the three news sites to disclose the sources from which they received confidential information about new Apple products. The lawsuit against two more OS X developers is currently on hold. An Apple spokesman said that while his company always defends its innovations, it has no desire to send students to jail. It is enough that Steigerwald has realized responsibility for his actions and now you can leave the proceedings in the past.
