Recognition Biometric Readers Now Equipped with Smart Card Readers
Recognition Systems, a manufacturer of access control equipment, announced the expansion of the functionality of its FingerKey biometric readers with an official press release. DX-2200 Recognition readers are now equipped with the HID iClass contactless smart card reader, which allows them to be used to create access control systems, as well as time and attendance systems with a combined identification method.
HID iClass contactless read / write technology embedded in Recognition biometric readers includes iClass smart cards and a series of contactless smart card readers. Data exchange between smart cards and readers is carried out at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. Each iClass smart card has a 64-bit register for storing code data, and a memory of 256 Bytes to 2 KB for recording information. HID iClass distinguishes itself from other similar RF access control technologies by a number of unique capabilities, including encrypted data storage, mutual identification, and reliable reading and writing of additional service information.
The Recognition FingerKey DX line of biometric readers is designed for fingerprint identification and is a solution for low-budget access control systems, for example, in enterprises with a small staff. These devices are easy to use and install, and have the necessary minimum functionality, which is now complemented by HID iClass technology. The devices are equipped with a built-in keyboard and LCD monitor. FingerKey DX memory can be expanded if necessary.
Based on certain security requirements at the enterprise, FingerKey DX biometric readers can be programmed for PIN, fingerprint, smart card control, and any combination of these technologies can be used. This breadth of capabilities, coupled with low economic costs, makes Recognition’s FingerKey the solution of choice for access control systems in industrial laboratories and research areas, in special areas of airports, banks, government agencies, as well as for restricting access to server rooms and computer systems.
