The last attempt to flash bios update on Asus ZPro (WiFi ac) was my attempt to boot from USB flash. Formated as DOS bootable device (or DrDOS) and in both attempts failed. Heliodisplay: IO2 Technology’s 3D interactive display

IO2 Technology claims that its engineers were able to design and prepare for mass production the world’s first 3D interactive display, called Heliodisplay. The novelty can be easily connected to a computer or home video equipment. It uses laser beams to form a three-dimensional “picture”.

Details of the technology behind the device were not disclosed. However, the company’s website notes that patented and patent-pending technical solutions ensure the use of ordinary ambient air as a screen.

The display requires a power supply and a signal source such as a computer, TV or DVD player. The existing version of the device, according to the developers, is capable of forming a picture with dimensions from 22 to 42 inches diagonally (depending on the model). Thanks to its backward compatibility with existing systems, Heliodisplay enables work with “two-dimensional sources”, as they are called on the IO2 Technology website (PCs, TVs, game consoles). Heliodisplay is equipped with a standard VGA connector for connection to a computer; connection of a TV and other home video equipment is carried out using the RGB connector.

The display provides interactivity: the user can move images or point fingers at them as if he were dealing with real objects. Interactive interaction requires a computer at least Pentium III 400 MHz with 25 MB of free disk space, running Windows 2000 / XP and equipped with a USB port. No additional devices: background screens, gloves, pointers or glasses are not used.

The quality of the image depends on the surrounding conditions: while the three-dimensional picture is bright enough under normal indoor lighting, it is almost invisible in direct sunlight. The company specifically emphasizes that although the device uses ambient air to form the image, no gases or liquids are added to it, and the image itself is not holographic, despite the fact that lasers are involved in its creation.

Images are formed in one plane, but when viewed from a certain distance (approximately more than a meter), the picture is perceived as three-dimensional, since vision is deprived of landmarks that allow one to estimate distances. Viewing angle that maintains the 3D effect – about 75 ° to each side of the center axis (150 ° in total; comparable to LCD settings).

The development of three-dimensional display devices is currently taking its first steps, but IO2 Technology claims that it is already ready to release its product in a serial, albeit limited, but intended for commercial distribution, batch.
